I'm with Telus here in Canada, and those 4 phones have caught my eye.

I don't want an iPhone, BB, Smartphone...I just want a cellphone I can text from, and I kinda like gimmicky stuff lol. The first 2 are brand new phones for Telus, and they ARE getting the Iphone, but I don't want to pay $200+ for a phone plus a contract.

Try using any of the touchscreen phones to see if your fingers can get used to it. Some hate it, some love it. Also, if the touchscreen isn't capacitive then I'd look elsewhere. Capacitive touchscreens don't require pressure to register where you are clicking...I believe the touchscreen phones you exampled are 'resistive'. Touchscreen Types - Wikipedia

#1 - Out of your choices though, I'd probably go with the Intensity. For texting you really can't beat a physical keyboard. The camera sucks (only a 1.3mp) on the Intensity so hopefully that isn't a deal-killer...but who buys phones for its awesome camera-taking abilities? :mamoru: The Intensity also has expandable memory up to 16GB, which is nice to have if you like music.

#2 - The Dare would be my second choice because of the camera, lol, and it seems the best out of the other 2...but remember it has a resistive touchscreen. I also like that the memory is expandable to 8GB.

#3 - Instinct I've messed around with and it has a very cheap feeling, touchscreen doesn't work that well due to it being a poorly constructed resistive screen.

#4 - The Masterpiece...was this one a joke? I wouldn't go to anything without a qwerty keyboard for texting. When I first had a phone and all phones had the number pad for texting, sure it was fine...Unless you want a cute little phone.

Just my opinion but me going from a qwerty to num-pad would suck. I'd still look at the other 3 before getting the candy bar Masterpiece.

I don't have a lot of faith in the flimsy feel of the slide out keyboards.

Understandable...try them all out yourself and see which feels 'right' to you.

I'm gonna have to get a hands-on feeling of working models of these before I buy anything.

Samsung Instinct M800 looks good. How come you don't switch to Rogers instead? They are more superior than Telus.
