Hey! I just got a 1982 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat its got a 302 under the hood but is somewhat lacking in power. I am planning on replacing the carburetor but am looking for some tips on how else I could boost the torque and horsepower preferrably cheaply.

I'd go with cold air intake, electric fan (if you don't have one, I don't remember if those did or not), and perhaps whatever the carb'd equivalent to a throttle body spacer is. If you want to put some time into it, you could have your heads ported and polished, and while you're in there you can clean everything up. When was the last time you just had a tune up on the engine? Maybe some new wires and bosch platinum +4 plugs. Exhaust usually gives you a little more kick, but not really a whole lot (it's sounds better though! hehe).
