Got my new (used) Surefire M962 today. It has been upgraded with the M3 strike bezel and the Z49 "clickie" tailcap. It is a 9v model capable of 225 lumens and has an A.R.M.S. throwlever mount. All I can say is, "SWEET!"

Belive it or not, $290 shipped. It was a steal considering the mods. Hell, just the light new retails for, what, $360ish?

I like your selection of "Maxim" as the backdrop for the first pic.

I'm getting one too soon but with the XM tailcap (with the pushbutton AND pressure pad)

I also got a tango down battlegrip and vertical grip coming this week.... Dunno why I ordered the battlegrip I like the hogue I got fine :dunno: but it can store batteries and shit

EDIT: I see you have the TD BG, how u like it and why dont u have the TD VG?

PLUS I preordered the magpul "modular" grip....

I'm becoing a real grip homo

Of course, this is going to mean I will have to build 2 more AR's at some point :bigthumb:

I want the XM tailcap b/c it is badass, but from what I heard from a rep, it is really not available to "the public" right now b/c of either FBI or DEA contracts. Are you getting the M962 9v or the smaller 6v? Also, I assume you are gonna get the ARMS throwlever, too.

As far as the foregrip goes, well, I had the Knights already, so I just decided to keep it for now. I really don't see a need to change, well, until I get a tapeswitch for my light; after I get the tape, I'll probably go that route. I can hold batteries in my PG, so no extra stored is needed.

Now, what is the Magpul "modular" grip? What does it do? I don't think I've seen that one yet.

As far as building new ARs, I know what you mean. However, I think 3 is enough for me. Well, I may do a 4th and have it as a beater, but that'll be later.

Here's my babies sportin' their Surefires...

Okay, I just "studied up" on the Magpul Modular Grip (MMG) and while it does seem to have some bells and whistles, I don't see a need for it. Maybe "overkill" as far as grips go. Hell, all I really need my grip to do is allow me to hold the rifle; this new grip that I have is a bonus because I can shove shit in there. I don't need some new dangfangled thing that you have to assemble and disassemble everytime you wanna toy with it.

    No thanks.

    Oh, here's a link for others wondering -- http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=193186&page=8

The XM cap is available, I know "brightflashlights" from ARFcom has them, thats who I'm gonna get it from probably. I'm getting the M962XM06... it comes with the ARMS lever.

And yea I'm getting the TD VG because of the tape switch

Remmy 870 HD model w/ factory 2-shot extension.
Wilson Trac-Lock ghost ring night sights
    Wilson oversized safety
    Wilson (TacStar) 6-shot sidesaddle
    Surefire Forend
    Speedfeed Tactical IV-s
GG&G rear single point sling attachment
    GG&G front sling attachment
CQB Solutions (now Spector) 6 shell holder
    ...and I think that's it.

I think the stock was, like, $70 or so, but it had a fore end come with it also. It is sittin' in the safe.

The sights were quite simple. I took the gun to my gunsmith, paid $20, and came out w/ new ghost rings. Don't get much easier than that, now does it?

Pure entertainment; well, and the shotgun for home defense.

I have 105 acres where ~50 of that is swampland and there is a beaver problem there. The lights help out nicely.

LOL, go right ahead my friend. I have a bigger version of this as my background; I love my 1911's, too.

I started w/ a Wilson CQB, but when I learned to build, I discovered I, as well as many others, were happier w/ my own custom 1911s than with a semi-custom gun.

The top left is created by me. Details can be found here: http://webpages.charter.net/usmcsilver/refinish

Top right is a Kimber Custom (Series I)

Bottom right is a customized Colt Stainless series 80

Bottom left is a US Army Auto Ordnance which is in the process of becoming my wife's gun. It is gettin' Novaks as we speak and will sport a pink frame and black slide when it is done.

I am also in the process of 2 other builds. One is on a BUL M5 frame (wide-body polymer) and the other is a Colt Stainless slide on an Essex frame. Not sure where they are going yet, but I'll post pics when I am done. I'll also probably have another page similar to the one above detailing the builds and refinishing.
