I'm thinking of getting some Long Tube Headers for my 04 GTO....I know that it is illegal to move the cats in the car.

Has anyone here ever had emissions testing problems with Long Tubes on thier car?

This would be the only reason I would get some Shortie headers...for emissions purposes.

    Thanks

    Darn you southern guys!

Im up in Illinois..I'd hate to pay 1200 bux + install, just to fail emissions :(

How does the Goat feel/sound with headers?

why would it be illegal to move the cats?
As long as you retain all stock emissions equipment, it should pass with relative ease. Make sure you keep the O2 sensors functional though or else it will throw codes.

Its not like the LS motors are really dirty.

I got an offroad pipe on my mustang gt. I passed emissions just fine, as long as your computer thinks your cats are intact, then you're fine.

I have long tubes and bullet cats and passed a sniifer and visual inspection. Do you honestly think that people who do emissions testing know where your cats are supposed to be?
