It makes my black carpets cry for baby jesus.

Up to now I used a stiff bristle rubber brush then vaccuum... but I was wondering, if I put a stiff plastic brush on a rotary and then went at the carpet lightly... would that be more effective yet not rape my carpet?

Try a damp rubber glove, that seems to work pretty well.

Exactly what I was going to say. Go buy a rubber glove made for washing dishes. It seems to be pretty tacky when wet and will get that hair up nicely. I have a dog that seems to transfer hair on to me that gets into my car.
