This was my first real go at semi-long exposures. What do you think?
ib someone comments on whitebalance different between pictures.
nice job for a first time. Very nice. Where is this bridge?
you havent heard of it?
sydney harbour bridge: not my photo:
2nd pic is good
pretty good job for your 1st attempt. what gear?
I'll guess...rebel XT with some sort of zoom...
rebel xt, cheap tripod, cable release.
1st shot was my 100mm 2.8 Macro
2nd shot was sigma 10-20 zoom.
how do you like that lens? I've been thinking about picking up it's film counterpart the 12-24
ohh right, I knew that. Someone awhile back posted an absolutely amazing panoramic extremely high res picture of that bridge (long night exposure). Might want to check that thread, somewhere in the depths of the OT Art/Photography forum...
Yeah ive never been a sigma fan, but this lens is really quite solid.
HSM squeals like a little girl (maybe why tomash likes sigma). little bit of green lens flare but overall im very impressed, pretty sharp, little to no CA.
I couldnt justify the price of a canon 10-22, in reality i probably should have got a 17-40L, but the 10mm is very wide even on the 1.6 crop which is a +
Yeh I kinda agree, cool
I agree. Not very good subject matter in the first one but the second looks great!
Yeah, most people always put the AF on Sigmas to be loud (and slow).
very nice for first try, famous bridge and looks great.
I orignally thought the first one looked good then I scrolled down and saw the second one and then the first one didn't look good anymore.
But they're both really good to me
In the first one you should photoshop that one building out though, the building on the far left half way in the border. It's adding light that doesn't need to be there. Just grab the smudge tool and take 3 slides to the left and you're done
And yeah I never really noticed that building for some reason. Great idea, consider it gone

hmm ... try a larger f/ ... works better for night shots .. also reduces the overbearing effect of lights
NOT MINE. but i saved it when i saw it
I will try
I did try doing some at a smaller aperture thinking it would be sharper, like say F9-11, but it never exposed properly so i stoped doing that.
Wow! looks like he was shooting from exactly the same spot lol.
Looks like im gonna have to go back there now that I have something to beat!!
sweeeeet, thanks for finding that. Saved now
