I usually wait until after conventions are done to make a report, but I felt like trying something new. Here's a few pics from today.

Fellow nerds waiting to get in.

    A high value production sign.

Green Lantern trying to get his groove on.

They had a special ribbon cutting ceremony with Stan Lee for this con. Jeph Loeb was there as well. Since I was too far away, I just took a pic of this guys camera view. Lots of others did the same.

    Doug Mahnke's sketchbook.

    Brian Pulido's con exclusive comic.

Waited in line for J. Scott Campbell's signature. Got this guy's cool backpack.

    Boba Fett pimping it.

    Jeph Loeb and Campbell signing.

Got the prints you see below.

Went back to my car to put the goods away. Caught Mark Waid chatting it up with someone.

Picked up these Rocketeer prints on the way back.

I'm gonna check the artist for this tomorrow.

David Petersen from Mouse Guard doing a quick sketch.

Caught Batman as I left for the night.

    More adventures to follow tomorrow.

They're still selling onsite tickets if you change your mind. If you got some spare time and cash you could try just one day. It's not really that big inside, so you could probably see everything interesting in that one day.

Campbell has literally thousands of the Blackcat Print at the Dallas Comic Con. He only had a small stack when I was in line to get one and I went up to the table like :hs: ...blackcat print? and he looked around and pulled out a gigantic box filled with the damn things.

    :o

    I want the Emma one.
It's like a 5000% profit for them. Print for 30 cents, sell for $20.

I just like having them :o

BUY ORIGINAL ART WORK YOU FUCKS

Getting the artist to sketch something for you > buying a premade sketch that thousands of people have. My spider jerusalem sitting above my computer agrees.

Do they do this often? This is the first I've ever heard of Long Beach having a comic con and I'm in the next town over.

A new organization created this con. It's the first one they're having. Wizard World Los Angeles did a few shows at this location years back (even though it's obviously in a different city ).

I wasn't able to get extra Campbell's prints today. I'll see if I can try again tomorrow.
