Ok, more than just a couple. :big grin:

Cool shots. I'm still interested in shooting at the ALMS at Mosport if you could help me with a press pass.

do you spend most of the race walking around the track or do you try to pick 1 or 2 great vantage points?

Depends on how much time I have. At Long Beach, the race was extra short, so I only got to a couple positions during the race. They also had much more limited track time for practice, so the number of shots I came home with were much more limited than normal.

Most weekends allow you to roam the track during practice and qualifying to get more looks and more corners, then during the race itself, you usually get to a few locations before having to head into the pits for pit stops and then to the podium.

Some weekends I have a golf cart to help get around more quickly and therefore get more looks, sometimes its all hoofing it, which isnt a problem with not wanting to walk as much as it is just time.

As for the above photos, the first shot was the first practice session, the second was the second practice session, the third happened to be the third and last practice session and the last two are from the race and both shot from the same location, just with different lenses and looks.

As good as they can from a a horrific track like that. Nothing special in the composition for most of them, just tried to use the really nice light we had both evenings to accentuate the fairly mundane compositions. I'll post a few later.

Is there any place around here (Hamilton/Toronto Area) that'll rent me at 70-200? Even an 80-200 would do. I'm going to be there either way.

Wow, only 40 dollars for the 70-200 VR for a weekend. I was expecting alot more. I'm definitely gonna get pick that up for the race. I should request it now so it'll be available.
