figured it was time to put up a log. my first year on F&N was shit. i stayed away from squats and deadlifts because i was scared of hurting myself. that would explain the shitty numbers i'm at right now. i still gained some mass but i wish i had started squatting and DLing earlier :(

anyways, the routine i'm on is the Rippetoe Starting Strength routine. i thought about doing the Bill Starr 5x5 but i think this one suits me (as i am a beginner, somewhat) better.

    Supplements:

    ON Choc Whey
    Micronized Creatine Mono
Gatorade Powder (+ 5g of Mono for PW)
    and ADAM Multi

oh, and the bench numbers are DB (obviously). i have no training partner and i find it pointless to BB bench if i can't go heavy (for me)

    when i first started:

    8/28 (~180lbs)

    Squat 3x5 @ 140
    Deadlift 1x8 @ 185
    Bench 3x5 @ 45

    8/30

    Squat 3x5 @ 160
    Military Press 3x5 @ 40
    Pull ups 1x6 @ bw + 1x5 @ bw
    bent over rows N/A

    USELESS BREAK

    9/11

    Squat 3x5 @ 170
    Deadlift 1x8 @ 205
    Bench 3x5 @ 100
    Decline Bench 2x8 @ 90
    Sit-ups 2x16 @ bw+45

    9/13

    Squat 3x5 @ 180
    Military Press 3x5 @ 40
    Lat Pull-down 2x8 @ 162.5
    Bent Over Rows 3x5 @ 140
    Side Sit-ups 2x10 @ bw+45

    9/18

    Squat 3x5 @ 185
    Military Press 3x5 @ 45
    Bent Over-Rows 3x5 @ 110
    Lat Pull-Down 2x8 @ 160
    Sit ups 2x8 @ 50

    9/20

    Squat 3x5 @ 205
    Bench 3x5 @ 110
    Deadlift 1x5 @ 225
    Dumbell Decline 2x8 @ 100
    Situps 2x10 @ 55

    9/22

    Squat 3x5 @ 135 (realised i wasn't going anywhere near parallel)
    Military Press 3x5 @ 90 1x8 @ 100
    Bent over-Rows 3x5 @ 165
    Lat Pull-Down 2x8 @ 170
    Sit ups 2x8 @ 60

    RAMADAN

that's when i stopped keeping the log (it was in notepad :mamoru: )

    12/06 (200lbs)

    Squats 3x5 @ 185lbs
    DB Bench 3x5 @ 70lbs
    Decline DB Bench 2x8 @ 65lbs
    Deadlift 1x5 @ 255lbs
i stopped doing Ab work almost 3 weeks ago. i should probably start again :o

no different today. went to the gym tired as hell, for God knows what reason.

    Squats 3x5 @ 185lbs
    DB Bench 3x5 @ 70lbs
    Decline DB Bench 2x8 @ 65lbs
    Deadlift 1x5 @ 255lbs

next weeks marks the beginning of a new diet/routine, btw :o

alright, today i started the Cut Diet...but i'm using it in a weird way. i'm eating over maint. calories (using the 3500 cal meal plan), but the diet itself is a low carb diet.
so, if what i think is correct, me eating low carb will result in fat loss and me eating over maint. calories will result in gaining lbm. i'll give it a few weeks and see what happens. hopefully, i'm right
i asked pur about a similar diet (The Anabolic Diet) but was just asking out of curiousity. he said it was ok and all that, so wish me luck :x:

anyways, here's what i did today:

    Incline DB Bench 3x12 @ 40's
    DB Flat Bench 3x12 @ 60's
    Machine Flyes 3x12 @ 125
    Crunches 3x25
    Reverse Crunches 3x25

first time i worked abs in a while, but it was pretty good. :o

    what the que?

legs day today. mid-workout, for some strange reason, everytime i look outside through a window, i get dizzy and want to throw up. one hell of a workout though. i went to the gym yawning...i took 25mg of E and 200mg of C when i woke up, on an empty stomach, i figured that would give me some kind of boost :dunno:

    Squat 3x15 @ 135
    SLDL 3x15 @ 135 (see below)
    Leg Curl 2x15 @ 130 & 1x15 @ 100 i couldn't do that last set at 130, man :(
    Leg Press 3x15 @ 320
    Leg Extension 3x15 @ 100
    Standing Calf Raises 3x15 @ 230
    Machine Seated Calf Raises 3x15 @ 160

for the SLDL, i'm not sure wether or not i did them correctly. i watched some videos on youtube to see how to do them, some bent their knees slightly, others kept them stiff. i tried keeping them stiff for 3 reps, felt some pain, thought i was doing it wrong so i just bent my knees slightly for the rest of the reps and sets.
the leg curl and leg extention are extremely uncomfortable...the last couple reps send a sharp pain up the side of my legs...i don't know if that's supposed to happen or not.

been a while since i last been in the gym...i'm not gonna make up a bs excuse so whatever. i'm back.

i dumped the Cut Diet suggested routine because i hated it. the guys from Scivation said that it was fine, the suggested routine is used for "optimal results"...
from my understanding, diet is the biggest factor in losing fat, so ya. back to the old 3x5 routine!

pretty awesome day for my squats..i broke 200 (not a big deal for you guys, but i'm pretty damn happy about it)

    Squats 1x5 @ 205, 2x4 @ 205
    Deadlift 1x5 @ 245
    DB Bench 2x5 @ 60, 1x5 @ 65
    Dips 2x8 @ 140

i'm hoping on saturday i can get my 70lbs DB bench back. as for the DL, i could have gone heavier but for some reason i stopped...kinda upset at myself for that

after i did my set of squats, i saw some short kid squatting 135 using the little pad thing and he was stopping 5-6 inches above parallel and his knees were caving in. i told him, when he was resting, that he should go lower and to not let his knees cave in...he said "oh ok"...
but he just kept doing what he was doin before

    i guess it's because i'm not big...:dunno:

    what a depressing day :(

squats were horrible today...noticed my knees were caving in on my first set w/ 205, lowered the weight to see what's wrong, got tired after a couple reps :ugh:
    1x5 Squats @ 205
    1x3 Squats @ 185
    1x3 Squats @ 175

i ended up getting pissed off and just figured might as well substitute with the leg press today
    2x5 Leg Press @ 360

    3x5 DB Military Press @ 50s
    3x5 Bent Over Rows @ 90 :ugh:
    2x8 Pull Ups

i don't know what the fuck happend with the squats...i really hope saturday is gonna be better...

knees turning inward is a sign of weakness in the hamstrings im pretty sure; this is a very common problem with many lifters myself included. try doing some good mornings , see if it improves it at all :wavey:

meh day...squats didn't go so well, deadlift didn't go so well :(

    2x5 Squats @ 205
    1x3 Squats @ 185
    3x5 Leg Press @ 360
1x5 DL @ 275 (had a hard time pulling it up for some reason..ya, i got 5 reps, but that first rep was unusually hard)
    2x5 DB Bench @ 60s
    1x5 DB Bench @ 65s
    2x8 Dips @ 185

felt a weird pain going on right about here:
edit: this was when i was squatting

i'm pretty sure it was form. i really hate what's going on with me. some days i have really good form, other days i have shitty form. my biggest problem is foot placement and angle-ing my toes/feet :(

my heels were at shoulder length and my toes were pointing outwards. i think my problem is one foot points farther outward than the other.
i also have a hard time lining up my feet in a straight line, sometimes.

    i'm a mess :(

my toes don't point straight... someone here told me that your toes should line up with your thighs (point in the same direction as your knees), so pointing out ain't a bad thing unless your feet are together
