I'm working on this site with a logo that's 300x400, and 400px is quite high to put in a header. Should I just resize the logo? I can't resize it too much because it could distort the text. This is a supplied logo. I can't post the image due to confidentiality, but the dimensions should give you an idea of the shape. I thought about just centering it and having the rest of the header the same color as the background, but it doesn't look very good. I'm a developer, not a designer. Any ideas?

If I do 150x200, the font is slightly difficult to read. What should be a max height for the header?

Have you tried putting the logo in its own "column" or floating out to the right or left so it's not actually pushing down any navigation or text?
