Hey, is there any way i can get all the functionality the logitech drivers allow without their actual shitty drivers? all i really want is to be able to set the side scrolling on my mouse(v200) to be forward/back buttons.

    Thanks

I've been using Logitech keyboards and mice for ten years. I've never found a way to avoid using their drivers.

What is your actual problem with the drivers?

    they suck.
i just installed setpoint and there isn't even a place to change the settings, just where you can change how it updates and shit.

As far as I can tell, all of the functions of my cordless Logitech Optical Trackman work
with just the standard Windows driver. And yes, that includes side scrolling.

    :dunno:

My Corless Logitech keyboard works without the driver as well.
I can't do any key-programming that way though.

Well I think the one I'm using is brand new out, so maybe they've gotten things
    worked out a bit better?

Yes, I've used several mice from Logitech and not used their drivers for both Vista and XP, just my 2 cents.

I have a wireless keyboard and mouse from logitech I want to use on my computer, but since it is linux, the drivers won't work, so I just leave it on my Windows XP machine.

I meant that the mouse itself is brand new.

I never ever ever use the vendor applications for peripherals.

What details do you want? I thought it was pretty simple connect the mouse and the OS detects it.

yea, everything works except being able to change the functionality of the keys, like making the side scrolling back/forward.
