Here at work i am on the server.

Off of the server are two remote desktops using those ncx boxes.

I want to be able to not have anyone else log on my computer from my desk not effecting the other terminals.

i always lock my computer, but people will type their user name in, and log in. Thus signing me off and closing all my programs/windows. I don't want people to be able to log in at my desk. only at the other desks. my bosses wife logs in my computer from home too, so i don't want any changes to affect that option.

give yourself local admin rights and no one else.

Who the hell are these people that presume to kick you off your own machine when you walk away from your desk?

I say the first step is to crack some skulls, and only then should you investigate permissions.

i am the only admin. everyone else is a limited user. That does'nt mean they can't type their name in at the lock up screen and log in with their account. Therefore logging me out

Under local policies you can prevent local logon rights. But only an admin can log someone out so you've got a permissions problem already.

Control Panel => Administrative Tools => Computer Management => Local Users and Groups.

:werd: you are not having a problem with "limited" accounts. Only an admin can give you the boot.

Open the Administrators group and make sure only your username is listed as a member. (Leave Administrator also, but make sure nobody else knows the password.)

Whatever the administrator account is, it should stay in the administrators group, no? Exactly.

Nice job not agreeing with the stuff you couldn't nitpick about.

No, I mean what's so great about your machine that other people are always wanting to boot you off it so they can use it? You got some exclusive porn stash or something?

    like i said.

there is only one computer. The server. Which I use. I have two remote desktops hooked up to my server. they run off my pc. they log on my pc thru them.

if both of them are in use, then my pc is the only option to use if they want to get online. so they type their log at the lock out screen. and log on, kicking me off

You let normal users log into the server? Hooboy...

Time to build a Windows XP virtual machine, instantiate it a bunch of times, and let people remote into those instead.

Normal users should not be logging into servers. Set up virtual machines for them to use remotely, if you can't afford dedicated hardware.
