There's an interesting example of what we're going to be fighting in the future I think. We have:
    • a gun owner who believes Heller is the end of rkba worry
    • a gun owner who can't even read obama's platform page
    • a gun owner who apparently doesn't know the difference between auto and semi-auto guns
    • a gun owner who sells the NRA as the bad guy
    • a gun owner who buys into the "reasonable" gun control line

We have our work cut out for us in the coming years, don't forget to take new shooters to the range, call and write your representatives (including proactively before a crisis and to thank them for voting the right way), and to try to write letters to your local papers to help educate the readers who only get to read garbage like Mr. Palmer's letter.

I don't need a machine gun? So? Who the hell is he to tell me what I can't spend my hard-earned and over-taxed money on?
    Fuck off Bob Palmer.

We don't need Machine Guns just like we don't need 1000 HP 250MPH+ street legal cars either.

Most die-hard liberals would agree with that as well. Save the environment.

As soon as he wrote "20 round banana clips" I knew he was a douchebag. Even if he is a gun owner, he's still a douchebag.

I didn't hear Obama say he wanted to get automatic weapons out of the hands of urban drug lords. I heard him say he wanted to ban a bunch of semiautomatic weapons because they look scary.

Fear based on propoganda? How about fear based on fact? That he wants to reenact a ban that infringed on the rights of US citizens for 10 years.

The terms he uses are, in most every instance of that article, incorrect. If he WAS really in the Army, then there is a good reason he learned that guns are an accident waiting to happen...its because they teach to the lowest common denominator, and he's it.

Did anyone else leave a comment or email the author? I paraphrased from Soybomb's bullet list and left a comment. It's currently awaiting approval... yeah, like that will happen.

if you have a pistol on your nightstand why would you use a trigger lock?

that defeats the purpose of having a nightstand gun ready to use

I posted a comment as well. I suppose they're moderated and will be approved after someone returns to the office on monday and the article has been read by everyone already.

Taking a new shooter to the range today for his first time. GOing to start him off with the 10/22 rifle and then move him to the Walther .22 pistola, then on to the Ruger 9MM P95 if hew does well enough.
