So how much does it cost to rent a 28-300 for a day?

$2037 :ugh2: in case it gets stolen or broken

I fucking paid $2000 for my 2005 truck.

If I had that much credit available or cash i would just buy the damn thing. And i would not risk loosing my $2000 in case there is an earth quake and it fell down.

Now what were some reasonable places to rent from online?

I loved lensgiant.com's customer service and how they packaged everything up. Great prices too. I rented two lenses for less than 100 bucks for two weeks. :)

almost all local places will "hold" the full deposit. we have one that does half.

If you rent a lot and get to know the guys its usually a lot less. It was only $1000 for the 200 f/2, a 6k lens

If you have a business license and have rented a lot/have good credit, the bigger places will just setup an account with no deposit.

our local place doesn't ask for deposits - you just have to book/pay with a CC.

    Great guys. No deposit.

Just don't be the first dumbass to fuck them over and break something and ruin it for the rest of us.

the thing is, you shouldn't be renting gear if you can't afford to buy it. If you don't have $2k available on your card, wtf is going to happen if you break it or its stolen?
