GM Heritage Collection Vehicles and concepts for sale to the public = FTW Except that Suburban with the MLB logos all over it. Kinda weird to see that light wood instead of the darker wood on the interior too.

Aww, the first one's cute. It's like a Suzuki Sidekick with a Chevy badge on it.

As far as I know, it can't be street legal until it has passed crash-testing in the exact same configuration. Unless it's bought without an engine, in which case it's classified as a kit-car, which exempts it from pretty much all regulations.

Note that they sell the vehicles listed as "prior salvage" title. I imagine if you take the vehicle to the DMV and have them inspect it as a salvage repair and recertify/reissue a new VIN for it, it could be registered. If it were being sold on a "bill of sale" with no title, that might be a different story.

They can replace the VIN? I didn't know they could do that. How do they deal with the VIN that's stamped into the firewall? Grind it off or something?

I've seen a few "rebuilt" cars that have a sticker in the door jamb with a new VIN on it, that is reflected on the title... they just ignore the VIN on the dash.

Some states may not allow that or may handle it differently, but I know I've seen a few.

I doubt you would have to have a new vin or previous salvage inspection. I have bought a few rebuilt cars from them and I have never had to have anything more then the usual state inspection for licensing (horn, lights, now make sure your brakes are ok).
