lmao @ stopping fights based on look on a dudes face in slow mo replay.. who cares if he was defending himself and popped up immediately, when you slow it down 100 times his eyes aren't focused where you think they should be (after the fight is already called)..

    fucking bullshit call.

I agree. Tracking your opponent with your eyes, rolling to your back and putting your arms and legs up in defense is DEFINALTELY "done"..

I think the correct call would have to let kos attempt to defend himself, If another clean shot or two lands on kos's head, then stop the fight. It looks like the ref may have been out of position a bit, having to move around the standing fighter and couldnt clearly see that kos had his hands and legs in a position to defend himself.

    bad stoppage

kos was toast if his opponent had pounced after the flash knockout, but since the fighter was too busy thinking how cool he was and not finishing the fight KOS could have recovered enough to tie the guy up and keep fighting.

bullshit stoppage (only because the opponent was a slow dumb ass and didn't finish)

Seriously, how does anyone by into it with his first line:

Fucking tracking him and preparing to defend the entire way down

:bowrofl: Ya, dude was out. No defence there at all, his hand were way out and he didn't know what was goin on. Paulo could have walked in and dropped a monster right hand onto Kos no problem, and it would have been totally unnecessary. I thought it was a good stoppage.

    buy*

And you can type as many "could have" or "would have" as you want. The fact of the matter is, his opponent walked in lazy and Kos was tracking his opponent with his eyes and his hands and rolled back and brought his legsu p to defend..

Legs went up by instinct though, there's no defence there. And ya, there's no need for the could haves, I'm just saying that there is no reason to even consider them since Kos was out. If the fight "would have" continued, it would have been unnecessary since Kos couldn't defend.

his arms, legs and eyes tell a different story. you give the fighter a chance to defend himself. especially someone at Kos's level. He's a top 5 in the world and he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. This isn't two 18 year olds fighting in an unsanctioned smoker in the basement of a boxing gym.

    imo

so keeping your head up while keeping your eyes on your opponent, holding up your arms to keep distance, pivoting hips, etc. is also instinct?

he was stunned, but he gathered himself as he hit the ground

yup. i know that refs are there for the fighter's safety blah blah blah, but you have to give the fighters the benefit of the doubt

this ref reacted to the punch before he could assess kos's condition afterwards, which is the wrong way to ref IMO

lol his eyes? Look at the end of the gif, he doesn't know where the hell he is

Hands and feet went up ya, I think it was more instinct than intelligent defence though, he wasn't stopping anything with the state he was in. Regardless, I guess the fighter has a right to defend himself, but if it would have went on, people would have been bitching about a late stoppage.

Who is the one talking about "could have" or "would have" now Jeff.... Jesus fucking christ. You are assuming just as much as the people saying it was done.

if Paulo went in there and hit him with a nice hook going down, everyone will be bitching how the stoppage was too late.

who gives a shit, the ref has to make the call ASAP if what he thinks is right.

I don't like Kos, but thought the stoppage was pretty bad... He got his bell rung for sure, but he didn't appear to be completely defenseless had his opponent followed him to the ground.
