I have a Dell XPS 710 which was previously installed with 2x512mb pc2 5300 ram. I recently installed 2x2gb pc2 6400 ram (corsair). The system starts up and reads the ram as 2.75 gb which is normal since I have 32 bit Windows XP. If I'm just browsing the internet everything is fine. However, when I play a game, it will randomly restart 5 minutes into it. This doesn't happen with the old ram. I've tried each stick of the new ram individually, and the restarting program still occurs.

I've tried checking the ram with Memtest86 and it passes. Any idea what could be wrong? I have a 1066 front side bus so I thought the ram will automatically slow down to 533 mhz? Any help would be appropriated! :o

Have you screwed with the timings or voltage in the BIOS?
