    linux noob signing in

question, with my current windows box, if it's powered off, i can just log into my router remotely and WOL it from there, then RDC into it, log in, ba da bing ba da bam

how does this work with linux/ubuntu?

to my understanding, you can only use vnc if theres already an active logged in session............amirite?

how would you WOL the linux box? how would you get to the login screen to log in? (like in windows)

    :dunno:

WOL should work no matter the OS

Could you run a home proxy server, and if your at work, tunnel in and have the (linux) server boot back up thanks to WOL?

    Is WOL a router feature?
