On Windows, I use JASC PaintShop Pro. However, I can not find a suitable replacement for Linux. Gimp does not do what I want, so do not suggest it.

I need a program (the more lightweight, the better) that has a directory browse/thumbnail function and that I can open many images at one time... Preferably in an MDI interface.

    Any ideas?

I've used gthumb and eog (eye of gnome) to open a bunch of images at once. Gthumb has a lot more features, but eog is fast and simple so I usually use it if I'm just viewing a few images at a time (used to use ee - electric eyes - but it disapeared a while ago). Do you need to edit the images or just view them?

just view them. I can open them in gimp to edit... but with webdev, it's nice to see thumbnails and open a bunch at the same time.

    I'll check out gthumb/eog... thanks.

Gthumb lets you have as many images as you want open at once - a whole folder if you like. Or do you mean open a bunch of images at the same time in separate windows?

    bingo.

I want something that works like JASC PaintShop Pro's "Browse" function.
