Linux RPM question

    New Linux user (Redhat 7.2) trying to install mplayer so I can watch videos. Dont know how to extract RPM files. help appreciated

    To install any RPM do this as root:

    rpm -ivh packagename.rpm

    BTW, mplayer is one of my fav linux programs. It can play anything I throw at it. :big grin:

    mplayer > windows mp

    just the fact that you can have an mp3 playing in terminal mode is soooo tight
