need to set up a ftp server on my friend's redhat 8.0 computer

which prog is good to use?
out of these? vsftpd, proftpd, and wu-ftpd

here is the criteria I would like:

    1. The password transmitted during FTP session is encrypted, so if someone sniff the packets, they cannot obtain it
    2. not allow users to go above the defined "root" directory
    3. A user should not be able to execute shell commands via FTP (other than ls etc)

    recommendations :big grin:

  2. crontab

    crontab (uid = 0)

Just by reading that, I think your only option is ssh/sftp.

    -crontab -l
