Linking my Laptop to my PC?

    I'm tryubg to use a cross over cable, but i cannot figure out how to get my laptop and my pc to meet up. Can anyone explain to me how i do this in XP? My pc has xp pro, but my laptop has xp home. I tried all weekend but i can't remember how i got my dell to meet up with my pc. Can someone explain to me what to do?

    as far as i know you can't just hook them up via cable. You need a hub of some sort that they are both hooked up to.

    You can use a single cross over. There should be a means to do this via Network Properties - you create another connection.

    Along a similar line, if you have them networked together, can you make them sync up so that two folders always make sure they have the same files?

    freshie, i think you may have to start sharing files/folders that you want from each computer.

    maud'dib, create a (new) briefcase and drag the files you want to get syncro'd into it. once you finish editing on 1 computer, click the syncro button at the top of explorer. (read the doc, its easier that way)
