    Can Lighttpd be run along side Apache to serve up video files?

    My dedicated server is running apache, I have many production sites operating on it.. I want to use lighttpd to handle media files that are hosted on one of my sites. Liquidweb helped by installing lighttpd to operate on port 81, apache is on port 80.

    We configured the etc/lighttpd/vhosts.conf with
    SHTTP["host"] == "www.example.com" {
    server.document-root = "/home/example/public_html/"
    }

    and specific the server.document-root directive within the lighttpd.conf, but I'm now sure what else to do...

    I run Apache to serve up the web pages and ANT as the httpd server for my media files.. so.. yes, it should work. I didnt have to do anything other than install it and start it. My flash server software could have changed the configs, not sure.

    Thank you, I've made that change, but apparently I need to install this module too

    Liquidweb says there is someone in the next shift with lighttpd experience, so I'm going to wait for them to get that module installed and test again
