It's just an Update. I got it. Doesn't seem much different to me.

The only benefit I can see the the memory exploitation fix. That's the only that I've had problems with. I need more ram. 2gb isn't enough to run LR, PS, iTunes, iChat, Mail, and Safari. :o

generally updates require new serial #'s because they realize 900320923409384 people are using the same one

    Drop shadows are gay,

    But -

The easiest way is to duplicate the layer, change the text color of the bottom layer to black, then move it to where you want it. Then change the opacity on the black layer to make it whatever shade. Repeat for the second part of the logo too.

So essentially you have two of the same layers, but one is moved slightly to create a shadow effect.

on the page that girth linked to in the first post, it says release candidate. doesn't that mean that its not a final 2.1 version? i know that normally a release candidate, or rc, comes between an alpha release and a beta release. you test the rc's before sending them into a more widespread beta version. not sure if adobe is following this convention or not :dunno:

Odd. LR isn't prompting me to download the update yet, even when I try the "check for updates" on the menu.

    That's because it's a release candidate.

I'm really hoping for performance upgrades as mine just doesn't want to load in 16k images.. Do we just check for updates within LR?
