with the champion back and not on the injured list it seems like theres more action going on here. We had sherks come back and now we have penn vs sherk to look forward too and alot of contenders for title shots around. So who do you think possible contenders for the title are.

    my opinion

Roger Huerta is definitely getting built up for it.

Kenny Florian might get another shot.

Spencer Fisher I think will eventually get a title shot because the ufc keeps pushing the guy to the top. I know he was supposed to get a shot at sherk awhile back before he got injured. They were setting him up to fight sherk again with the hermes vs fisher fight and then when he lost they gave him that fight against sam stout. So I think he might eventually get up there as well.

Hermes I think might get a shot again but he will have to fight is way back up to the top.

Huerta - No time soon. They're too busy building him up right now
    Florian -
    Fisher - Maybe
Hermes - I they thought that he could win Hermes/Sherk 2 then maybe they would set it up. I don't see how he possibly could after their first fight, though.

Huerta from what I have seen has no chance
    Florian would be no diffrent
Fisher might have a punchers chance
    hermes no

BJ really the only guy I see with a sound on paper shot at winning

I figured Joe Stevenson will get a shot soon, that was kinda the intent of the Guillard fight wasn't it?

I want to see Guillard again. I think he'll become a great fighter. He's like a lw Randleman with great striking.

truthfully MMA still suffers from the "two worlds" dilemma

like on the MMA weekly top 10, Sherk is barely in the top 10 because of guys like Kawajiri, Sakurai who have been around for awhile..yet they won't rank the UFC fighters higher until they start fighting the Pride guys, to be fair you don't really know which guys are A or B level because they haven't been "tested" yet...Gomi was thought to be the best in the world and he lost twice in the span of a year

Sherk is that low because he only has a couple fights at LW to unranked LWs. Unfortuantely that kind of means he shouldnt be on the list until he beats a ranked LW.

I thought BJ put the speculation about him staying at 155 to rest and said he was going to go up to 170 "the right way." Did I miss something?

Unfortunately guys like Nakamura shouldn't be in a top 10 for LHWs either but he is

Sherk beat Nick Diaz who dominated Gomi

    it's MMAath but it's true

Why not take a quick shot at the lightweight title? The Serra Hughes fight is really far off, so if he moves to 170 he will have to wait awhile to get a title shot.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but did he say this or is this just what you/we'd like him to do?

    Which part are you questioning?

In the post fight press conference at ufc 73 Dana said BJ would get a title shot against Sherk.

    Awesome photo

I hate to be a trendy TUF fan but I cant wait to see Diaz and Lauzon get some fights in the LW division.

That's what I was asking - what I missed. I don't know how the hell I missed that, because the last thing I heard was that BJ wanted to pack on enough muscle to comfortably fight 170. I'm clueless as to how this shit went over my head :o.

at another weight class. beating someone at a different weight class does not rank you in another weight class.

And rankings arent made using MMath, if they were then all riggs would have to do is drop 15 lbs and he;d be instantly ranked using that logic.

its who you;ve beaten in that weight class, or who you've beaten when you were at that wewight.
