Anyone ever do anything like this? Not sure if it's the right term.

Going on vacation and I'm excited to take some nice pics. Trying to think of some cool/fun pics to snap at night while drunk in the campground.

Flash painting is when you have a subject in the dark and you use a flash to light the subject. You shoot the flash multiple times while using a long exposure. Thats what I consider flash painting.

    long exposure + flashlight

I've done it but overall find it somewhat gimmicky, I have however painted with light to illuminate an object a certain way (meaning the light source is hidden). I'll do this to light up a building or trees or whatever I might be photographing. I've done this with small flashlights, big spotlights or flashes.

Last vacation I tried it a little. Setup the camera and put a flashlight on a tree. Seemed interesting.

Like I said, looking for some ideas for vacation in two weeks. Might be fun on the beach or something.
