i'm pushing myself real, real hard in the gym and i'm wondering if i'm not eating enough for what i'm doing. Averaging between 1300-1700 cals a day 30/40/30. 5'11 and currently weigh 182.5 as of this morning. i've still got fat on my chest and belly so i'm trying to cut.

    possibly not eating enough?

if you're really pushing yourself at the gym on those calories, you're probably going to die soon.

don't stand up so fast and take your time. you drinking adequate water? a person can get dizzy when standing up b/c when you stand up your blood pools in your leg which = less to the brain.

no, i'm healthy looking almost. I've still got a good amount of belly and chest fat i'm trying to work off. Plus i'm really just not that hungry a lot anymore so its hard to get in more than 2000 calories unless i eat like really shitty foods :sad2:

edit: keep in mind that 1300 is on a low, low day. it's usually upwards of 1700

Still man, those calories are crazy. I decided I was going to do that a while back and I got my 6'0 frame down to like 150 while I was working out. I landed in the hospital with all kinds of crazy symtoms and they thought I had menengitus.

I didn't put it together till years later than eating 800 calories and working out every other day as hard as I could was probably the reason for the whole thing. Be careful and listen to your body.

    are you breathing correctly?

if you're exercising, you want to make sure you can still talk normally

2500 was mentioned earlier in this thread and I think that's probably closer. Have you ever tried to figure out your BMR?

2000 is still too low. at 180+ pounds, you should be eating at least 3,000 calories to maintain that weight i think. 2,500-2,750 should be a good amount for steady weight loss. decrease it even more as you lose more weight, but i wouldn't go below 2,250.

I haven't, i should probably do that instead of guess-work though.

it'll take some time to get back up to 2200 cals.

I just explained why it happens...when you stand up your blood pools in the extremities...this causes lack of blood to brain. The brains response is to make you pass out so then there isn't a gravitational force against the returning venous blood.

We call that orthostatic hypotension. Google it. Have somebody check you out if it bothers you.
