Lift until you tire out or only a certain number of sets?

    I'm getting back into (at this point) light lifting after a couple year hiatus.

    Would I be better off lifting until I tire out (30-45 min, I guess, maybe more) or simply doing a certain amount of sets and increase that number as I go?
