I was hoping to get my first tattoo because i just moved out of my house. I am a lifeguard still until about september. How long does it take for a new tat to become healed enough for me to be able to be completely under water. Or should i just wait until the season ends to get it?

They say 2 weeks before you go into the water. My best friends wife went to get one last week, and she is a lifeguard too. The shop pretty much turned her down and said to come back in a few weeks once the pool closes.

i was told wait at least a month, but preferably 3 before even exposing it to direct water( as in full-on shower stream, or any swimming)

:ugh: 3 months before putting it into a shower stream? Just don't get it anywhere near pool water or the sun for at least 2+ weeks. Preferably never in your life :o

i think the 3 months was more directed towards the pool or lake or ocean thing. :)

What would happen in i did get into water. I just want to know so i can know the effects. I am hoping that it will scare me away from water and not want to try anything
