So I'm thinking about buying a MBP. On average how long have these machines lasted for you powerusers?

Buy AppleCare at the last minute. If your MBP should start to fail, it'll prb. be before your AppleCare runs out. And those AppleCare tech's do a stellar job on the old machines.

Apple laptops are built very well. The only PC's that might compare would be Sony VAIO, IBM ThinkPad, & maybe Panasonic Toughbook. The pricey one's!

I bought my Unibody MacBook October 30th, 2008. So I haven't had it for a year yet but it's still in good shape, battery still has most of its charge.

    Oh, and :werd: on AppleCare.
