I am looking to buy a semi-auto 12 gauge soon and was wondering what you guys prefer?

As of right now a middle range CZ is what I'm looking at.

Budget is around $500...ideas? I want something with real wood, no synthetic.

My ideal auto setup would be Benelli for SHTF, S12 for fun. Mossberg if I need to throw something at someone.

What do you want it for? Hunting and sporting or do you want to be tacticool?

I am leaning towards suggesting a Beretta 391.

While we are on the subject, whats WMD's opinion on the FN Herstal SLP semi auto shotgun. Got to play around with one at the local shop and loved the weight and feel. I was told recoil was really soft, and the gun is great, but I didn't want to spend $1000 without some input.

Get a Saiga-12, do the proper conversion, apply for tax stamp for an SBS.

The only home defense shotgun you will ever need.

My dad has one but I'm not sure if he's shot it yet. He was all about it though, talking about how fast the action was and stuff.

I loved the feel of it when I was messing with it at the shop. I'd just like to shoot one first before I buy.

Hunting and sporting for sure. We shoot clays almost every weekend.

I'm going to throw out all of your requirements and recommend a Beretta Silver Pigeon.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

One of my good friends has a nice Beretta over-under, I think it's called a White Onyx.

I think that's the same gun, minus the engraving, for $1K less.

I've started shooting clays with my Browning BPS just for the challenge. Probably the most versatile gun I have ever owned bcause for $450 I am not afraid to take it into the brush. I'm going through diff loads with it right now to decide what I want to use for Spring Turkey

I enjoy shooting clays with an 870. But nothing beats my Remington Model 11!

    Currently my sporting guns are.

    11-87
    1100
    870
    Citori

    all 12g.

    Do you hunt?

391 is nice also. Benelli is nice also but don't buy a 3 1/2 anything for clays lol.
