Who makes the best printers? I want to start turning out profits to parents, friends, etc..I have enough glass to make quality images. I'm sick of driving to walmart all the freaking time to pick up 4x6's. I read a previous thread, a guy used a nice printer and makes very cheap prints. Sounds enticing.

the epson picturemates have really nice prints. Last 90 years, water resistent, smudge resistent.

Epsons have the best reputation for long-term print quality. Epson and some HPs use pigment-based inks. Canons use dye-based inks. Pigment-based inks last MUCH longer, and page-for-page Epsons are less expensive, even though HPs are usually cheaper up-front.

I needed to get my wife a photo printer and I wound up getting her an Epson R220, refurbished for under $100. That's a bit extreme but it makes really nice images up to 8.5x11. If you're looking to spend more than that, you can definately get some excellent machines.

didn't have my 2200 with me when I flew home, bought one for a project, used it and returned it :noes:

its ok, but uses an older ink set. r2400 ftw, or if you print a lot, the 4800 :)

    Your options:

    HP B9180
    Epson R1800
    Epson R2400
    Canon i9900
    Canon Pro9000

Ive heard/read that the HP B9180 and the Epson R2400 are both at the top of the list. I'm hoping that the Canon Pro9500 output is as good, but it's taking Canon forever to start shipping it.
