If you don't buy LMT your testicles will rot.

Seriously but whatever you can find cheap. I've gotten dpms kits for $40 in the past and next time I see them at prices like that I'll buy several more.

  4. They're all pretty much the same. Unless it's made of compressed Chinese newspaper, you'll be fine.

If I remember correctly, Grant is an "Elitest", so I'm sure his kits are good. :o

just buy the fucking CMMG and get 1 box and 2 cent shipping charge from AIM

  13. .

I don't see how this could be so hard. Unless you want to spend lots of money, so that you feel better and can tell people on the internet about it, just buy any of the decent kits that are $50-$60.

GandR has probably the best kits for the price, he picks the best parts from different kits and sells them as one for a really cheap price.

  15. Really, an AR LPK is as simple as you can get. Short of bad metallurgy or shoddy machining it's crazy to pay twice what you have to for a LPK because the parts are somehow "better." It's a few springs, a few pins, and a pieces of cast and stamped steel. This isn't like purchasing an optic. There are hundreds of thousands of people using LPKs from the major manufacturers, and they are just fine. I guess there's a desire to buy into marketing though, paying more than you have to for parts that have no real benefit seems to be pretty common. I guess it's all how it makes you feel for some people.

I lost my pivot pin detent (shot across the room), and I have to wait until I order my upper to order a new one because I refuse to pay for shipping for a $0.65 part the size of a grain of rice. :wtc:

I might be the odd man out, but to me the trigger is a major factor of the gun. The usgi type triggers just don't cut it for me. Granted the LPK has many more parts than just the fire control mechanism, but I budget $200 for the trigger alone. This is for any gun I own. Tow most important component for any gun is trigger and sights.

As far as AR triggers I like the jewell, jp, timmey, and jard. I actually shoot a jard trigger in my AR but it is because that is what my AR smith likes to work with and my AR trigger is amazing. My standard recomendation is to use whatever trigger you AR smith wants to put in your gun, if he is doing the work. If your doing your own trigger and have some mechaincal apitude then the jp trigger is pretty damn nice. The $99 sale on jewell triggers on midwayusa is pretty interesting. They got some kind of ratchet mechanisim that is very slick.

I'm waiting for the Gieselle SSA to become readily available. I've read nothing but great things about it.

yeah with triggers I really want to pull on them to make my own evaluations. As people know I make my living selling triggers.
