how many of you have beans in your diet?

all I hear on this forum is chicken this, tuna that, steel cuts oats this.

take a good look at the nutritional value on a can of beans and you will be surprised.

    lots of protien/fiber/good carbs.

    I love beans.

I eat green beans, and ranch style beans, and pees and such.
Chicken is a mmuch leaner source of protein, as there are no carbs amd fat..

:hsugh: typically less than 1 gram of fat in a serving of any type of beans unless they add fat.

and no carbs? You on keto? That fiber is good on my bum.

I believe most beans are a source of incomplete protein.

correct that is why you dont substitute them in place of meats or whatever. you can making up the remaining amino acids necessary through rice and what not but its better to go straight meat. sure theyre fine but in substitution of complete sources theyre not

that's all I'm saying. no way I would give up mean in my diet for beans. But the fiber/carbs and protein value they hold are worth it.

I cook up a batch of beans every week.

1 cup dried small red beans, sometimes I add a ¼ cup of black beans.
    1 med. onion
    1 cup mild salsa
Curry powder, turmeric, hot sauce to taste.

Soak the beans for at least eight hours, pour off the water, rinse and refill to just under the top of the beans. Add in the onion, diced, the salsa and seasoning. Simmer for around two hours until there is just a little free liquid left. They will last for at least a week in the fridge. Spoon out the amount you want with your meal and nuke in the microwave for a minute and a half.

    Meal,
Romaine lettuce and some spinach chopped fine. A little diced onion, walnuts, couple of strawberries etc. on top. 1/2 can of tuna on some nights.
dressing, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, turmeric (I don't have the quantities and don't really measure them. Might be able to dig up a recipe if anyone is that interested.
    Beans from above.
Melon medley. two pieces of cantaloupe, honeydew and a small piece of water melon.
Chicken breast if not having the tuna.

    "...
Researchers found that small red beans contain more disease-fighting antioxidants than both wild and cultivated blueberries, which have been heralded in recent years for their high antioxidant content. In fact, three of the top five antioxidant-rich foods studied were beans.

If that is the best response you can come up with than you need to look into nootropics. It's obvious that you need some help in that area.

First, someone would have to care that you hate beans, no one does.
Second, you could make an attempt to post something remotely useful to someone else. You haven't.

    Keep looking up nootropics bud.

i bought some adzuki beans at the local natural food store... saw that they were like 350 calories per cup or half cup, i dont remember, but they were pretty nasty. some 30 grams of fiber, same for protein, and 60 ish carbs in all. Still trying to finish them off (put a little in protein shakes when blending)
