that's a nice pic, actually. is there anything in particular you were centering or concentrating in capturing? in outside landscape shots, do you generally want to include more sky or ground? I'm torn sometimes on how to compose the shot.

not really, everything was just covered with frost and I wanted to get a picture of it :o

I would say it depends on the shot as far as sky/ground goes

Depends on where the elements are in the frame. But too little sky can look silly in any frame because it typically is high contrast to the rest.

I am having a partial remember about a 'rule' regarding that....will have to google to spur the memory.

Oh, and pardon my while I contend with Fuzion...lol

This is ice, by the way, not liquid water. It was between -50° and -60° that day

It looks pretty bad at higher resolution... It was below zero and I was too lazy to carry the tripod and apparently didn't watch my shutter speed.

    Thanks though!

wow, some truly gorgeous shots in here. I will need some practice on SLR to capture something the same quality.

what do you guys use for post production? I just downloaded PS/Lightroom. Can someone link me to some useful n00b walk-throughs or tutorials?

    Thanks in advance.

yup, I went and got that first thing. do you know of any tutorials online or sites with tips or how-to's?

edit: I mean, I used Google, of course, have seen a couple of decent sites, but maybe you guys know of a really good one.

    no kidding.

that's why i rarely use my camera unless i leave the house for an event. there isn't -anything- worth photographing around my house.

same here, I have cows and flat fields :sad2:

I only find it worth venturing out when it's warm :o

of course it doesn't help I've been having a bit of writers block lately as far as photography goes :hs:
