    1. Adamantium.
    2. Vibranium.
    3. Captain America's Shield.

Adamantium & Captain America's Shield are man made; while Vibranium is natural.

As far as durability goes CA's Shield > Adamantium > Vibranium. Vibranium is not, or ever was, stronger than Adamantium. However Vibranium have this unique property that can absorb pretty much anything. Lets put it this way, if a normal human was put in a suit made of vibranium and the Hulk/Sentry punched you; you probably still survive because the metal absorb all the energy that would of transfer upon you; however the suit may have dents or imperfections. If you were in a suit made of adamantium, you would be pulp, but the suit would most likely be in pristine condition.

As for Captain America's shield, there is NOTHING in the Marvel Universes thats like it. It is unique and probably forever be this way.

kthx. Just tired of so many people not knowing the difference. :o

Well it's vibranium+secret iron mix according to wiki :dunno:

During one of his experiments to fuse vibranium with an experimental iron alloy,[2] MacLain falls asleep and awakens to find the experiment a success. However, this is due to an unknown catalyst entering the process during his slumber, and he is unable to duplicate the result. The vibranium-iron alloy mix is then poured into a mold for a tank's upper hatch to create the disc shape and painted to become Captain America's symbol.

On the other hand, in Secret Wars when Beyonder Doom blasted the heroes, Cap's shield was torn up and Thor's mjolnir was intact. :big grin:

Vibranium is the pure metal. It absorbs energy.
Vibranium-Iron alloy is what Cap's shield is made of. It absorbs energy and is extremely durable. The dude who made it fell asleep while making it so he forgot how it is made.
Adamantium is the result of attempting to reverse engineer the metal of Cap's shield. It is just durable.
Carbonadium is the result of the USSR reverse engineering Adamantium.

There was also the time Molecule Man casually took apart mjolnir, cap's shield and Surfer's board.

he had bone claws all along apparently...

he later got all his adamantium back. I think he tricked apocalypse into giving it to him, if i recall at all.

Issue 100 is where cable's Son imprisson's wolverine and is about to re-put wolverines adamantium skeleton (Adamantium pulled from a recently deceased Cyber).
Everything is going according to plan the BOOM!!! wolverine rejects the adamantium goes into a feral state due to the overload of his healing factor which now gets jumped to astronomical levels.
Canonball 'rescues' wolverine's only thread of humanity
    Elektra finishes the rest.

further on When Apocalypse is finally resurrected he gets turned to "Death" horseman of the apocalypse
add adamantium equals current adamantium clad wolvie back

    the end

X-men #25 Wolverine looses adamantium skeleton by magneto pulling it out of his pores (intro of bone claws they were there from the start eek ! )

Wolverine #100 (Bone wolverine goes feral) see previous post

    Uncanny x-men (I don't remember this one)
Cable's son re-captures wolverine & this time successfully bonds the skeleton to wolverine bringing back the metal wolvie.

    the end

    (re-make)

    oh yes.

    I have the issues
    I can lend :)

    SPOILER ALERT

    *
the x-men issue is also when phoenix manifest it self
    Jean is about to die
    wolverine is dying
and I believe its where wolvie & jean start the 1st of many near death conversations
(also as seen in x-men cartoon from the early 90's)

The wolverine's story arch was so-so to be honest
canonball plays a good part in this but I would haverather seen Jubilee story wise. They have so much background together this would have worked better even if cannonball gets the snot beat out of him. the story does pick up with elektra being thrown in the end.
