who are you guys using? Do you have a mid and high level book? Or just one for everyone?

So far, i've only been using kiss, and i'm getting very few people interested because of the price of the book. Every couple is all about it, then when they see the cost, they skip it pretty quick. At least in the price bracket i'm shooting in at this point.

i'm trying to find a more economical book that will give my customers something they can afford in a flush book, and something i'm proud of. i'll probably keep kiss going as my high end book, and i'll definitely use it as i get more clients that can afford it, but right now i need something i can put in my clients hands, to get more word of mouth going...

    So give me some idears!!

So far, i'm registered to Kiss, asuka, albums unlimited, and white wedding....

hell...not to go cheap end or anything, but I used walgreens.com for an engagement shoot I did for my cousin and they were thrilled...cost $10 :dunno:

had many different templates for pages (including flush) and came out pretty nice for a cheap knock off.

Black River is cheaper than Kiss, and the Tuscany isn't too bad. Haven't used their other albums.

I use it when they need to go under Kiss.

    Fast delivery too.

I've heard great things about Black River. I'll be using them for my 1st album next year (unless I book one between now and then)

Do you have to be a "professional" to order from all these places? I'm looking at DIY options for our wedding album next year.

    the tax id isn't required.

I got a response back from them without it. I'm not making enough money yet to even consider paying taxes on it.

But yeah, Black River seems good. I'm gonna check into them. I'm really looking for a flush book around the cost of an Asuka regular bound book. Prolly not gonna happen, but I'm realizing that the wedding books are probably the single best way to get word of mouth out there, and if my customers can't afford the really nice flush mount, i'm losing out as much as they are...

Just curious on the pricing, how much to wedding photogs typically make from the albums? Is it a high markup product? Most of the photographers we interviewed charge $1-2k for 40 page albums.

the albums themselves aren't super expensive. I've seen them range from 150-300 bucks, but you're paying for the time to design them, plus a little mark up.

well if price is the issue, then you need to work on the sales pitch. How much are you asking for one?

    High End Albums
    Queensberry
    Art Leather
    Graphi
    Leather Craftsman
    La-Vie
    Jorgensen
    Picto Book

    Middle Price
    ASA Books
    Zook Book
    White Wedding Album
    Album Art
    Albums Unlimited
    Albums Inc
    Asuka
    Jones Book
    Premeria
    The Together Book
    Vision Art
    Willow Book
    Bound to Last
    Cypress

    Cheeper Alternatives
    Rag and Bone
    Blurb
    Shared Ink
    My Publisher
    Lulu
    Shutterfly
    Snapfsh

Bolded are my favorites. Graphi is the best deal if you can get them to order parent albums, and have some great promo materials to go along with the book.
