Well, I went back out today, it was a much better experience, I don't think I will attempt night portraits again for a while especially without strobes.

they look soft to me :dunno:

and you need to watch the position of the blonde model with the roman nose, make sure you point that into the the lens so it doesn't look huge....i.e. 11 vs 12

the compositions and posing in the pics look great, but you may want to crop a little tighter on some of them.

    Check your lens for backfocus.

    OOF and soft.

Also, they are looking away from the lens. Maybe they are looking at off camera flash?

OOf and alot of them have way too much headroom. They are much better than your last set though.

definately watch the shooting angle for shots like 12, because it makes her look terrible.

also try to have them look at the camera for once, there are times not to look but majority if you are taking a standard portrait having someone with nice eyes looking at you is a plus for teh image.

5,6,7,8,11 are my favs. some are a tad soft and several are underexposed. you have some good shots in there and they could probably benefit from some better pp

I like 6 and 7, but several of them look pretty soft.
i think 10 has potential if you clean up their hair.

Please explain this, how do I check, and if it is back focusing, what do I do. I had it at like 1.4 a large majority of the time, it could just be me trying to figure out how to use it still, and not being all that good at focusing where I want it.

No flashes used, so not so much, I was shooting with a friend, so, they could have been looking at him the whole time too. I also think i should have shot mroe at F1.8-2.4

They need some hairspray. A lot of the pics I want to say look good don't because their hair looks like they just got up from a mid-afternoon nap.

you need to try stopping your lens down some, just because it can do f/1.4 doesn't mean that's all it can do. :o also try having them look at the camera more often.

Definitely for separation, but I think it just killed it, and I probably would have been fine on separation at 2.0+
and over 2.8 with the 200.

The bokeh in #2 looks really weird to me. Kinda like there's some little transparent worms crawling around or something.
