Bodypump is a one hour class, you go over several major muscles of the body and there is a song for each one. you will do a song track doing biceps, one triceps, one doing squats, one lunges and so on. The music is a variety, mainly pop and alternative, some hip-hop here and there. All are up tempo, with the exception of cool down which is slow. The moves match the beats of the song so it's pretty cool.

There are all kinds of people, it depends which gym you go to, but there are sometimes even older people and there have been some quite fat people (even though fat people usually don't go too much to gyms cause they are too self-conscious, but the brave ones are there :)). It's very motivational too, cause when you are in group and everybody else is doing the exercise, you feel motivated to do it yourself. Just try it out. If you don't like it, you don't have to go back.

    thanks.
I rathe renjoy group fitness type things as opposed to doing it alone. it helps me feel motivated and feel like "i'm not suffering this alone". I love going to Spinning classes since, yeah it may be me and 2 other chubby girls in a room of fit ones, but Everyone is doing the same thing for the same goal of fitness. Going it alone sucks so that's why i was looking for some sort of weight training type thing that I can do that won't leave me with either doing it by myself, or hiring a trainer... this will hopefully bridge the gap.

Awesome. I'm doing spinning Mondays and soon Thursdays too when my schedule opens up, a Butt,Legs, Thighs and Core class Wednesday, and I'll be trying bodypump this saturday. If I like it It'll be my Saturday class every week.

Sadly, my university gym doesn't offer more in time slots that I can take right now, but we'll see what happens when they post the summer schedule..

Hey good luck, you sound like you're serious. I hope you make good progress. Remember that diet is 65% of the battle.

Diet and dedication are peoples biggest problems imo. Sounds like you already conquered diet, now you need something to keep you dedicated.

bodypump is pretty good. you work all your muscles while working on your cardiovascular. its a real popular class with a good mix of men and women. you can make it as hard as you want, and if you do it right and the instructor is good, it will kick your ass everytime you take it. I take it twice a week and have been for about 6 months, and it kicks my ass pretty hard
