alright my friend has a new macbook with leopard on it, problem is the screen capture doesn't work, everytime she pressed cmd+shift+3 it gives her an error message telling her that it "cannot write to intended destination please make sure folder is writable". I looked on the interweb and I can't find anything about it, anyone know?

sounds like the default folder for screen captures is write protected. Go to the Home folder (the username link on the left in finder) and right click the desktop folder and go to get info. Make sure that the "Locked" checkbox is unchecked. then, expand the sharing and permissions drawer in that same get info box. check to make sure that the user has read & write privileges
