when i set a drive for time machine, will it delete everything on that drive? (ex: using partition on external drive)

my powerbook doesnt read dl discs so i had to create 2 partitions on my internal drive for the .dmg file. now that i'm done with the partition housing the .dmg and i want to have 1 partition on the drive, how do i make the drive have only 1 partition w/o erasing the other partitionon?

Time Machine doesn't delete content as long as it's in MacOS Extended (Journaled) file system.

Dunno off hand about your other question.
