not believing anything until apple says so
http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/ still says "coming spring 2007"
Vista/bootcamp incompatibility sounds like something they could fix with a patch, and not a good reason to delay the release of Leopard by 6 months.
Vista works fine for me in the Boot Camp beta
If they do delay Leopard because of problems with WINDOWS....I'll be severely disappointed.
If they delay their OS just to work better with the fucking competition I'LL be pissed.
Apple is smarter than that.
Maybe a little arrogant, too
But yeah, I wouldn't buy the Vista argument. The people who need Windows on their mac (both of them) can stick with XP for the time being...
DigiTimes have a terrible reputation for Apple rumours. I bet they got a lot of hits for the advertisers with that garbage though.
Vista is based on a different structure than XP, so it's going to take some retooling to get Boot Camp to work fluidly with it. I think most people are right though, in that it shouldn't take till October.
Oh, and LOLZILLA - the most precisely that Apple has officially been is "Q2 2007". Spring 07 is speculation at this point, so Apple has anywhere from April-June to release this. It may well take them into June.
Yes but nobody is buying Leopard to USE Vista so it makes no sense to delay an entire OS for a feature over half your userbase can't even use. They should release it as a free download like they did before.
It must be something else their working on.
Every rumor out there lately has been that Leopard is nowhere near done yet, the OS X side, nothing to do with boot camp. If this rumor actually came from someone in Apple, what're the chances that this is just to cover themselves "quick, the OS isn't done yet, find some way to blame it on Windows"
its just a rumor.
and its already delayed enough
first day of summer isn't until June 21st, is it not? End of quarter 2, end of June? Seems to me, you're both arguing the same time frame.
Right. Spring would be March 21-June 20. Beyond that, every beta tester has said the release given to them is far from finished. It's a known fact that software companies ramp up beta releases in the weeks before an OS's release, which Apple has yet to do. Jobs himself has said he has yet to announce several "secret features" that have not been shown yet. Typically Apple does its OS press stuff at WWDC. This year's WWDC is in June.
Seems like we'll be waiting for a few more months.
wrong 80% of the time
