Do they make a pedal-style lens hood for the [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens that comes with the XTi? I browsed around and couldn't find one meant specifically for this lens. I'm a n00b to the world of DSLR's, so I'm not sure what would make hoods for other models interchangable.

I've found the ring-style hood but I don't like the look of it.

If so, link or part number? :x:

I knew it was coming. :squint:

I will, one day. I just got started (yesterday literally) and I need to learn how the camera works before I go spending a pretty penny on a nice lens.

There's a good correlation between product value and my likelihood of smashing it, every little bit of safety I can give this lens is needed. :o

I don't know that the petal hood for my 10-20 does anything for light.

But I do know that there are no scratches or chunks missing from the front element because of the hood. :mamoru:

the lens hood for the 18-55 is a circular hood, not a pedal style and it only extends out about 3/4". it doesn't look like it helps much. save your money and get a better lens.
