I'm trying to talk my boss into a new laptop... so i'm messing around, spec'ing out the ThinkPad i want.

A coworker recently bought a HP laptop that had a 64bit cpu (not sure which one) along with Vista 64. Does Lenovo offer 64 bit cpu's/OS's? I didn't see an option for it on the build i was spec'ing out... but i would venture to think its available somewhere.

Am i jsut looking in the wrong place? Oh, i'm interested in the T61 series... none of that tablet stuff for me.

If by "64-bit" you mean AMD, then  you'd have to be a fucktard to buy that.

Not... thats not what i meant... maybe i'm getting confused and using the wrong words. I'm definately not buying, or even looking at an AMD.

Supposedly the coworker in question got core 2 duo cpu... but he said its 64bit.... and he uses Vista 64-bit.

I'll ask him exactly which cpu he has.

yes, a Core2Duo supports EMT64 -- which would allow you to run 64-bit Windows. I don't recommend it, but it can work.

Other than the lack apps that can really utilize it right now.
