since the ban is over, am i legally allowed to convert my 10 round mags to 15 round mags? met someone at the range yesterday who also has a USP9, and he had bought about 8 10 round mags at $5 a piece, and converted them to 15 round mags. i shot a couple of his converted mags out of my gun, and they work flawlessly. he taught me how do do it. is it legal to do this or what? just wanna play it on the safe side.

cool, thanks. just bought 5 10 rounders for the conversion, which all together cost a little more than half of what a factory 15 costs. doin it right now to one of my two ten rounders though.

there's a piece inside that limits it to 10 rounds only, so you just take that out. problem is, it's also the piece that holds the mag together tightly. you have to take it out, and use adhesive to keep the mags together. makes it impossible to take apart without breaking the adhesive though. but the guy said he had more than 4k rounds through one of them w/o any problems with cleaning, plus they're only $5 a piece.

    1. open the mag
    2. pull that piece in the picture out
    3. close mag
    4. glue that sumbitch up

fits 15 rounds exactly, and feeds perfectly

    gotcha.

I'm a little depressed. The mags for my FN Forty-Nine are all steel and have two indentations on the sides that prevent more than 10. I'd have to grind them off and re-weld.

With my CZ, the 10 round mags are steel, but are physically shorter until they install the big plastic base of it (nearly an inch tall) to limit capacity.

    Stupid AWB. :squint:
