Hi, I've never posted in here before. I'm a novice lifter, been at it for about 7 months.

My left shoulder, arm and pec are noticibly bigger than my right. I've really been concentrating on my form on bench, military etc and it feels like I am pushing evenly from both sides. Is this just genetics? I'd appreciate any advice you guys have.

i have the same thing, not so much for size, but strength. for me this is most noticable with bicep exercises. ie for DB preacher curl w/ equal weight i could get a solid 12 reps on my right side before tiring and the left i will need to assist it with my right from the 7th/8th rep. i figured my left side would eventually catch up, but it has been this way even at my strongest. any suggestions? can i do some exercises strictly for my left to help it catch up?

i am a novice too....had this for a while but when i started to eat and trained better it eventually all caught up....
the size difference was first to even out then came the strength.....
gym rats told me to use single arm/ unilateral movements and it would catch up...i stuck to barbells though as i thought being a novice that this situation was usual for novices and i am bulking first.....symmetry can come later..... size for me was/is a must...

    hope this offers some reassurance....

That pic can't be real... ... well at least not of yamaha. That would be a crazy sick amount of compensation there. Well... I guess having one nicely built arm is better than none, right?

Always work your weaker side first when incorporating uni lateral exercises.
If need be add a few sets on your weaker side and intentionally do less on your stronger. I did that for awhile and my left arm actually almost caught up to my right. I guess though you may have to keep it up for a longer period than I did because after awhile it went back to the status quo of being about 1/2" smaller.:hs:
Unfortunately you'll realize that whatever took the hardest to develop is also likely the first to go bye bye when you diet or lose size.
