Thanks for the advice. I have hear from most to remeber its just a game and to not let it get to me.

I am trying to blend in but I am bigger guy 6' 220 so that may be a problem.

Why do you say not to stand out for being good?

Standing out is not good, because if you are worse than most people, they will notice and make an example of you, and if you're really good, they hold you to a higher standard and expect more from you. Either way you'll get dropped more, and no matter how outstanding you are, there is no real gain to not be invisible, unless you count muscle mass.

at that height you will be al element leader. this means wherever you march you will be the guy in the front of your element out of 4 elements. KC-10 crew chief is alright, not as cool as C-5's though.

I never got that option :wtc::wtc:

    It was C-130's or KC-10's

I am glad I chose the KC-10's the C-130s are at Willow Grove

you'll lose a lot of muscle mass, and frankly it's not important there.

Run and do pushups and ab workouts - although its probably too late for that.

I know about losing mass that really really sucks :wtc:

Running, pushups and abs are not a worry ;)

I heard that too, and it may have been different B/C I went through Field Training and not BMT, but 1/2 way through I realized I was one of the few with tighty whities. Once I realized that, I immediatly wrote my then-gf and had her send me plain white boxer/briefs -helped with chaffing so much

oh yeah... you aren't an airman until you get done with "warrior week"

until then, you are trainee dipshit, asshat, etc...

so the reporting statement should be "sir, trainee dipshit reports as ordered" when they address you first,

and if you initiate the convo, it's just "sir, trainee asshat reports"

as a heart attack. They try to make the lame ass warrior week, which is nothing but a trumped up NBC/SABC training, into a rite of passage. Totally stupid.

when i went through 6 years ago we were issued shitty (figuratively) whiteys.

Also, goldbond with menthol is a good idea. It burns to begin with but feels better. Not sure what your recruiter told you to bring but less is best. If you need it, they will bring you shopping for mandatory items within the first few days. Also, be prepared to spend the first few days/nights in whatever cloths you bring and then expect them to get packed away in a locked closet for the rest of your time there.

Also, nevar, evar Volunteer. Day room crew and KP are about the 2 easiest things to do detail wise, but if you eat too much on KP it WILL regret it.

Also, I can't stress this enough, learn how to do dorm guard as soon as you get there. Don't ask to do it but know HOW. That is one of the easiest ways to get fucked over. Right behind sneaking food and unauthorized BX visits.

I dont think I can bring any sort of medicine but the other things I will go out and buy now.

I am wearing only sold color tee's down there with solid color cargo shorts.

I have been memorizing the ranks, reporting statment and motto since I signed the paperwork.
