I have a leather collar and cuffs from AslanLeather and now that i've worn them a few times they're starting to get some white residue on the inside. I assume it's from sweat. I can't seem to find the little tag that came with the products saying how to clean them. Does anyone here know?

Any leather cleaner product you can get at eth store is fine.. OR 1 part woolite to 8 parts water on a lightly dampened cloth. Rub gently.

any reason why specifically woolite? Would Tide or a dish soap like Sunlight work too?

woolite is FAR gentler on the leather. tide will be a bitch to get out. even so diluted.

ok. Good to know. I guess I'll just go pick up some leather cleaner. It will be ok to use over the metal parts too right? The collar has a bunch of metal studs inlaid into the leather.

just check for each specific cleaner, but most are ok on metal. most of the time it best to use the cleaners diluted as well since it's something that sits in such contact with your skin.

seriosly check out a harley or motorcycle shop if you are that worried about not damaging your collar and stuff, a lot of leather chaps and things are leather w/ metal inlay, they have cleaners specifically for such things. check it out.

oooh shoe store! Good idea. I kept looking at places that sold a variety of household cleaners and couldn't find anything. After reading this, I went to a shoe store and they had a cream cleaner for leather. I just used it on my collar and cuffs and it seems to have worked great. I like that it moisturizes and conditions the leather too. The stuff is called "Woly" in case anyone else is wondering.

    Thanks for the help FS!
