going from my old camera I'm a bit overwhelmed, but I think I'm learning it :hs:

I don't have a polarizing filter for this camera yet, and still using the 18-55mm lens, but I have a filter and a canon 75-300mm lens on the way in the mail :o

anyways I went out to the lake today to play around with it a little bit to get the hang of it :hsd:

Be very careful of focus (the engine shot for eg: a lot of the undesirable crap on the left looks like it is focused better than the rocker cover & BMW logo).

Always look for a more creative way to frame your picture (car shot in the grass, boring)

Some concepts to understand which will help:
-How your AF works / how to control it / good practices (focusing subjects eyes etc)
-Framing your photos - getting at subject's level, rule of thirds (not a rule at all)
-How a camera lens works, how to use it to control Depth of field etc
    .

  4. :werd: I was looking forward to some erotic pics :naughty:

I like the big sunflower pic best, and then the little dragonfly pic; those are the least "snapshotty," IMHO.

What're you "going for" when it comes to these pics? :dunno:

    Did you get a Rebel or a 20 or a 30 or ....?

My wife and I are planning to get into portriture (sp?)... looking forward to it. She's planning to shoot a friend of ours next weekend, and I want to shoot my coworker here soon before I'm off to the sandbox. :hs:

:) That lens looks familiar. I need to get my wife another lens; trying to decide between the 50mm f/1.4 or the 60mm f/2.8.

Meanwhile, there is no lens changing on my 707. :o

I hate that lens for anything over a few feet away from me :o

I can't wait for the 75-300mm to get here :o

reviews i've seen seem to say the 2x is garbage (at least in comparison to the 1.4x) 2x being quite a bit softer, whilst the 1.4x very faintly softer.

That said, I''ve no personal experience with them.
