Im a truck driver say i find a great deal on a handgun in Ohio, I live in Texas how would I go about purchasing it?

Could I FTF it and then mail it to myself or would have to FFL it?

Laws must be the same in your state of residence with the state from the person your buying from.

Ive lived in Az for the past year and a half as a student with my WA State DL, and since WA laws are nearly identical to AZ laws I was able to do a FTF sale (multiple) no problem.

Why couldn't you just FTF it then keep it in your cab until you go back home?

Because you can't buy a handgun from someone that lives in a different state from yours without an FFL being involved.

You can't go face to face for purchases outside your own state no matter what. (Unless I'm mistaken, but I don't think I am)

Some states you can buy long guns in other states(From an FFL) but handguns must either be bought face to face (if your state allows it) from someone that is a resident of your own state, or an FFL in your own state.

I don't believe there is any legal way you can do a face to face transaction of a handgun between residents of two different states.

If i'm mistaken, please let me know.

For the threadstarter, the only way you'd be able to do it is to have the person send it to your TX FFL.

Because the FMCSR says I can not be armed while at work.
